Here’s a collection of catchy hand washing songs for kids. They’re great for teaching little ones the importance of washing their hands.

Of course, hand washing has always been an important part of keeping things hygienic. And so, it’s not surprising that it’s one of the best ways to protect ourselves against coronavirus. Nowadays it’s never been more important to emphasise the need to be extra thorough.

Now that kids are getting back to school, things are going to be very different in the class room. But you can help them to adjust to the situation by being prepared.

These songs and videos will help them to understand the importance of being extra thorough and frequent with hand washing.

To start with, here’s a really good little information video from Unicef which explains the whole process in a simple kid friendly way.

Hand Washing Songs for Kids

This one from the CBeebies TV channel, demonstrates a good hand washing technique with a practice run first. They’ve been careful to remember all the little places that can sometimes be overlooked like wrists and knuckles too.

This song from Baby Shark below is good too because it includes fun actions to dance along with. It also includes other helpful hygiene tips like catching sneezes and coughing into the crook of your elbow.

This next one from Unicef is particularly useful because it deals with duration. It counts down from 15 to demonstrate how long you should be hand washing for, and it’s useful for number practice too.

And who doesn’t love Peppa Pig?  This video below starts off with a super simple and rather appropriate use of a piggy-back song to the tune of Row, row, row, the boat!

The last video comes from Sesame Studios and it’s very easy to remember because it uses the well known tune of London Bridge is falling Down.
